Microchip Technology Intern in Chandler, Arizona


This position will be a key regulatory compliance support position. It will support the ongoing assessment of global regulations and execution of product compliance programs (REACH, RoHS) managed by the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Product Compliance Team. The EHS Intern will provide needed support to design teams by working with suppliers and third-party data miners to acquire key data on the chemical composition of the components in our products. The position will also focus on supporting and creating tools and processes to ensure compliance with global environmental regulations. The EHS Intern is expected to be responsible for multiple project tasks and work closely with cross-functional team members.


Essential Functions:

Gather and maintain Product Compliance data (Bill of Material data, Full Disclosure Documents, Certificates of Compliance)

Complete regulatory compliance review at the component and product level

Create Excel databases to aggregate data and information

Gather and maintain supplier data from Microchip’s contract manufactures.

Ability to work independently, manage numerous projects and have excellent prioritization skills.

Be a proponent for a safe/ accident-free working environment and assist in shift safety communication sessions and preparation for materials used in such sessions.

Environmental knowledge and experience a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

· Student pursuing a BS degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Supply Chain Management

Ability to commit to a 10-12-week part-time internship program

Willingness to learn from others on the job and inside a specific team
