Microchip Technology Principal Analog IC Design Engineer - Chandler, AZ in Chandler, Arizona


The candidate will be a member of the Wireless Solutions Group Silicon Development Team in Chandler, Arizona. As a senior member of the team the designer will be responsible for the design and testing of the Analog Mixed Signal WLAN/BT IC and its interface with the base-band PHY. The candidate must be a team player, self-motivated, with an excellent communication skill to work with cross-functional teams.


A hands on experience and in depth knowledge in CMOS analog-to-digital converters (ADC) and digital-to-analog converters (DAC) is a must

Knowledge of Analog circuit design in the following area: Data converters, analog Filter, AGC & VGA design

Trade-offs and parameters (e.g. noise & distortion, frequency-response, mismatch, bandwidth, stability & settling limitations)

Signal processing in analog filters, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, and feedback control loops

High frequency / high precision SAR ADC design is a big plus

Layout supervision Experience with transistor-level simulation tools, custom layout tools and common lab equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)

Experience with system-level analog design including modeling behavioral operation of complex analog & mixedsignal

circuits such as ADCs or filters (e.g. Matlab or Verilog A)


Job Requirements:

With a minimum of an MS degree (PhD degree is preferred) and 10 plus years of applicable experience in CMOS Analog RF Circuit development.

Experience in high-speed, low-power, and design-for-manufacturability in CMOS

Be able to work in a group setting

Work with team members to resolve technical issues

Meet deadlines and schedules as part of a team effort

Help estimate time to accomplish tasks

Communicate progress regularly

Identify and resolve schedule issues
