The Boeing Company Business Systems and Technical Analyst in Mesa, Arizona

This is a Business Systems and Technical Analyst position in the Information Services organization for the Boeing Company. This person will provide technical integration support for systems internal to the organization and to Boeing end users.

The Information Services team helps employees across Boeing create, access, understand, harness, manage, and disseminate information. They optimize the latest developments in information management strategies to support Boeing innovation and competitiveness, delivering high quality, cost effective solutions on a global scale.

We are looking for individuals with experience in and knowledge of Information Technology principals, practices, and systems. The successful candidates will apply their knowledge of Library, Information Science, and/or Information Management principals, practices, and systems to help Boeing end users. Candidates should be able to apply principles of information architecture (IA) and user experience (UX) to library websites, systems, and repositories. They should have excellent technical and problem solving skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment. And, the successful candidates must also be able to work in collaborative, individual, and virtual environments.

Position Overview This is a Technical Integration Focal position in the Information Services organization for the Boeing Company. This person will provide technical integration support for systems internal to the organization and to Boeing end users.

Primary Responsibilities: 1. Analyze end user needs, develop alternative solutions, and make recommendations. 2. Collaborate with other Information Management lifecycle job functions and participate with Enterprise system architecture and applications functions. 3. Develop and maintain the Information Services (IS) Technology Roadmap. 4. Design, administer, and continuously improve systems, servers, and applications that support Information Services (IS) solutions and provide guidance on effective technology insertion to provide value. 5. Design, develop, and implement the look and feel, organization, functionality, and accessibility of Information Services websites. 6. Collaborate with Boeing Information Technology (IT) resources and IS teams to support and communicate enterprise technology initiatives. 7. Collaborate with Information Services (IS) focal on desktop management and server administration to support business needs.

Typical Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in related field and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an MLIS or MIS graduate degree and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Basic Qualifications:

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee."

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

• Experience with industry-leading web-based technologies (frameworks, databases, APIs) and semantic technologies.

• Standard data serialization formats like XML, CSV, JSON

• Web design basics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery

• Basic programming in a language such as Visual Basic, Python, Perl or Java

• Experience with SQL queries and relational databases structure & design

• Experience with Linked Data principles and standards

• Experience working on the command line (logging into servers, writing and executing scripts)

• Experience with server and systems administration including the following competencies:

-Microsoft Windows Server administration

-Microsoft IIS Server administration

-Microsoft SQL Server administration

-Microsoft Windows Active Directory administration

•Experience working in an Oracle database environment

•Linux server administration

Desired Qualifications (Preferred):

Integrated Library System Administration:

• Millennium/Sierra Integrated Library System • Smartlogic Semaphore • Strong knowledge of bibliographic metadata standards, such as MARC

Repository Application Maintenance/Development:

• Good knowledge of HTTP and web application architecture • Git source code management • Experience managing a large legacy code base

Data Transformation and Web Design

• Experience with MARC • Bootstrap front-end framework • Active Server Pages (ASP)
